NYSC Medical Fitness Certificate

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) requires all prospective corps members to undergo a medical fitness assessment as part of the NYSC registration process. This ensures that graduates are healthy and can participate in all NYSC activities.

We provide graduates with NYSC Medical Fitness Assessment and certification, ensuring they meet all necessary health requirements.

The NYSC Medical Fitness Assessment is critical in preparing for your NYSC service year.

It helps identify any underlying health conditions that may require attention and provides you with the necessary certification to proceed with your NYSC registration.

This assessment confirms that you are physically and mentally fit to handle the challenges and responsibilities that come with the NYSC program.

How to Prepare For Your Assessment

To ensure a smooth assessment process, please bring the following with you on the day of your assessment

  1. A valid identification card (OOU Student ID, National ID, etc.)
  2. Recent passport-sized photographs
  3. Any relevant medical history or previous health records
  4. Your NYSC call-up letter (if available)

What to Expect during the assessment

At the Directorate of Health Services, we conduct a thorough and efficient medical fitness assessment process to ensure you are fully prepared for your NYSC journey.

Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Physical Examination: Our medical professionals will perform a detailed physical examination to assess your general health, including checking vital signs, cardiovascular health, and overall physical condition.
  2. Laboratory Tests: We conduct a series of laboratory tests, including blood work and urine analysis, to screen for common health issues such as anaemia, diabetes, and infections.
  3. Vision and Hearing Tests: These tests ensure that your eyesight and hearing are within normal ranges, as these are critical for many of the tasks you’ll be expected to perform during your service year.
  4. Chest X-ray: A chest X-ray may be conducted to check for any underlying respiratory issues, including tuberculosis, which is crucial for ensuring the health and safety of all participants during the NYSC program.

Next Steps

After completing your NYSC Medical Fitness Assessment, you will receive a Medical Fitness Certificate, which is a required document for your NYSC registration.

This certificate will be issued promptly, allowing you to proceed with your NYSC preparations without delay.
